Members of the public helped battle a "suspicious" fire which destroyed a pick-up truck late on Friday night in Lingfield.Fire crews were called at 11.10pm to Selbys, off Station Road, to the vehicle on fire.Before they arrived, nearby residents had used water from hose pipes and buckets to calm the blaze and moved cars to stop it from spreading.Firefighter Matthew Lingard, from Godstone fire station, said the truck was parked opposite the homes in a courtyard.He said: "The...
