Hi, I'm Kelly - a proud member of the Fetcham community and have been for all my life. I was brought up here and now live here with my family - I am also the vice chair of the Fetcham Residents Association and a strong believer in giving back to the community. We currently meet bi-monthly and are always looking for more people to join! Surrey Mirror published Looking back: Horley church build began at Michaelmas Fair
In just over a year's time, a Horley church will be celebrating 60 years since work started on building it.The date September 28, 1957 was a special day in the history of Horley parish.For it was on this day that the first sod was cut in preparation for the building of St Francis Church in Balcombe Road.The ceremonial cutting of the turf was conducted by Mr FD Edwards, who was described by churchwarden at the time, Mr JG Rowe, as the "fairy godfather" of East Horley.The event was held...
