Thousands of tonnes of recycling collected from Reigate and Banstead homes was burned in an incinerator last year.The borough council has told the Mirror that 3,163 tonnes of dry mixed recycling collected from residents' homes - such as paper, plastic and glass - went up in smoke.The revelation emerged at a meeting of the council's overview and scrutiny committee. Accounts for the financial year to April, released in meeting papers, reveal the council recorded a huge overspend of £280,000...
