Mark Davison published Thunderstorms break over Reigate and Redhill

THUNDERSTORMS predicted by the Met Office have arrived in Reigate and Redhill. Flashes of lightning first lit up the night sky at about 10.20pm accompanied by quite heavy rain. The storm soon intensified and forked lightning ripped across the sky every 30 seconds or so for more than an hour. A line of storms accompanied by heavy rain is moving into Surrey from the direction of Southampton and the Isle of Wight and in places there has been very heavy rain.
