A diversion route along part of the A22 near South Godstone will be in place from tomorrow (Monday), ahead of six weeks' worth of "vital" roadworks which are set to be carried out. The section of the major road will be closed 24 hours a day in both directions until September 15 so the carriageway can be excavated to prevent flooding and stop the road from collapsing down the bank.
