Vandals tore plates from a war memorial and smashed them in a "shocking" attack.The plates, bearing the names of soldiers who died in war, were prised off the memorial in St John's Church, Egham, and left smashed on the base of the statue. Some of the memorial wreath which adorned the obelisk were also damaged.The incident took place between midday on Wednesday and 12.15pm on Thursday.
