Surrey Mirror published Smoke alarm does its job after fire breaks out in Epsom kitchen

A kitchen was badly damaged after a fire broke out in Epsom last night (Thursday) but thanks to a working smoke alarm, nobody was hurt.The blaze started at 10.13pm at the home in Downs Lodge Court, in Church Street, Epsom.It is not yet known what caused the fire as an investigation is ongoing but a crew was there very quickly because the property is just 0.3 miles from Epsom Fire Station, also in Church Street.READ MORE: Car catches fire near East Surrey Hospital but driver manages to get it...
