A section of the A22 while be closed entirely near South Godstone for between six and eight weeks from next month so "vital" roadworks can be carried out. The section of the major road will be closed 24 hours a day in both directions from Monday, July 24, so the carriageway can be excavated to prevent flooding and stop the road from collapsing down the bank.
