Painshill firefighters have urged dog owners to keep their pets under control, after crews were called to rescue a flock of sheep chased into a muddy pond in Salfords earlier this month.Along with a crew from Esher fire station, firefighters arrived at the scene on November 3 at 8.45am to find 14 sheep trapped up their chests in thick mud on Axes Lane.While all the animals were rescued, three were in a bad state having been savaged by dogs and trapped in freezing conditions.
