CBallinger published Easily recognisable tree on Reigate one-way system to be cut down

A tree that will be familiar to anyone who regularly uses the one-way system in Reigate is going to be cut down and replaced.The cherry tree that sits on the island at the junction where London Road joins the one-way system on Castlefield Road is suffering from a fungal infection which is causing its roots to rot.Reigate and Banstead Borough Council has taken the decision to replace the familiar feature this winter with a new flowering tree.
