The company that owns Southern Rail has lost its appeal against a judge's refusal to block a series of strikes by train drivers. As a result the train operating company has urged passengers not to travel by rail on Tuesday as members of the ASLEF union walk out in an ongoing bitter dispute about driver-only trains.
