A baby mole which made a death-defying escape from the jaws of a predator is being nursed back to health – appropriately, by volunteers at a Mole Valley charity.The tiny mammal was snatched from the ground by a magpie but managed to fight free mid-flight and survived the fall to earth.It was saved by a member of the public who witnessed the battle and took it to the Wildlife Aid Foundation (WAF) centre in Leatherhead where it is now being nursed back to health.
