Surrey Mirror published War veterans have just saved commuters from strike action on...

The RMT has suspended part of its next planned Southern Rail conductors' strike over fears it could hit donations for the Poppy Appeal. The RMT today announced staff would not strike on November 3, when the Royal British Legion is holding London Poppy Day, during which uniformed members of the armed forces, often war veterans, sell poppies at mainline stations ahead of Remembrance Sunday. There were fears the strike - the latest in a long-running dispute over changes to the conductors' job...
