The Government has announced that it will allow learner drivers to have lessons on motorways, including the M25 and M23, from September 2018 in a bid to improve road safety. At the moment, learner drivers are not legally allowed on 70mph roads until they have passed their test. But the new law will mean they can have lessons on motorways, as long as they are in a dual-control car with an approved driving instructor.
