LukeJarmyn published Roof of Dorking house caught fire after being hit by lightning

A South Holmwood house was struck by lightning during a huge overnight storm, setting fire to the roof. The detached home in Betchets Green Road, just off the A24 (Horsham Road), was hit by lightning at about 2.30am with 12 firefighters from Dorking, Leatherhead and Reigate then at the scene for more than two hours.Firefighter Phil Dawson, from Dorking Fire Station, said the family who live at the house were woken up by the lighting and "got out just in time as it was hit".READ MORE:...
