The owners of The Old Oak pub in Meadvale want to build two houses in its garden, a move that has provoked "uproar" from regulars and residents. Punch submitted a planning application to Reigate and Banstead Borough Council on March 22 asking for permission to construct a pair of two-bedroom semi-detached houses in the pub's garden.But a petition set up by regulars at the Somerset Road pub, near Redhill, has been signed by more than 200 people who object to the proposal.
